To Broker License, or Not to Broker License. That is the question

I am getting my real Estate License so I can work under a Broker as my side hustle. In NY I have to work under a Broker before I can become a Broker myself. Any pro's or con's of becomming a broker myself if my plan is buy and hold rental properties???
