Recommended RE investment courses?

I am interested in focusing on RE investing, but would like to start out with some education. I was told I should take a 1031 Exchange course. Are there any others that are recommended? At this time I would like to take online courses, any recommendations on where I should take them?

Also, what are the ideal preliminary steps to becoming a serious investor?

Thanks!

If you are just starting out then a 1031 exchange course might not be the best place to start. That's more of an advanced topic to use once you have established properties with enough equity that you could roll into the down payment for the purchase of a bigger property. If that's you - then absolutely that would be a good topic to learn. If you are interested in multifamily Michael Blank has a good course. Unfortunately they are all online right now so networking has definitely changed but they are still good for their content. I know John Schaub does courses on SFR investing down in the Tampa area, but they may be canceled or online now too. Both of those are worth a look!
