What would you do with $3K/mo to invest?

I’m 39 y/o, with 2 kids, and my wife is a physician. We came to the US in 2013. I just have 3 months working in the US due to my visa status, so, 401K will begin in 3 months. My wife has about 3 years with her 401K.

I want to know where to invest $3K/mo. Mutual funds? REIT?

I would stash that 3K/month until you have a larger pot to pull from.  Once you get to around $50K, you can then find a deal to invest in or partner with another investor to buy a larger deal.
