Ways to invest other than buying property

I currently live in a Florida due to my husband's career training but we plan to move back to our home state, Kentucky, in about 1.5 years. I had completed my real estate license in Kentucky and was just about to start up my investing career (as a side gig, I work full-time) when we found out we had to move. I had been practicing the 'live-in home flipping' strategy with my previous two homes, but now due to life circumstances and temporary status in this location we are renting.

Because purchasing property is not the ideal option at this time, what are some of the best ways to still be investing? How do I go about finding a reliable investment group? Since our long-term plan is to end up in Kentucky, I would like to find a group in that location that I can work with when we move back, but is it difficult to work with an investment group remotely?

Thanks in advance for the advice! I am itching to get back into it somehow since we don't own property right now (never thought I'd be renting....). Real estate investing is a passion and I hope to make it my full-time career one day!
