Buying investments with both of us as real estate agents

Hi All - my wife and I are planning on purchasing our first investment property soon with the ultimate goal of starting a real estate investment business and buying up single family homes to rent out.  She is currently a real estate agent, and I'm in a '9-5' that I'm not crazy about, and ultimately plan on leaving to do real estate full time.  I'm strongly considering getting my real estate license and also become an agent - not to find good deals for our investments - but to create another stream of income and because I think I'd be good at it/would enjoy it.  Our concern is two-fold (1) it may be difficult to get a loan given that both of us would be considered contractors and I know banks wouldn't look favorably on that, and (2) just the overall fact that both of our incomes would be commission-based.  That said, I'm considering different salaried positions in the real estate industry in my market.

I wanted to see if anyone else has gone through a similar situation or has any thoughts in terms of both of us being commission-based, and if that would hurt our chances of being able to get a loan.  Thanks all!
