it's really state specific, each state has their own process and rules around creating a LLC. It could be as easy as an online form, or it could require a lot of forms and bureaucracy.

The other side of it is, that depending on your state a LLC may not be the best entity for what you are trying to do. There are advantages in tax and in controlling your liability depending on the type of entity you create. If you are new, it may not even make sense to create an entity yet.

I'd agree with what the others are saying, talk with an attorney about this, you should also discuss this with a CPA to be sure you are getting into the right entity for a better tax position.
