Real Estate Limited Partnership

I am interested in possibly making offers on shares from limited partners in RELPs and am posting here to see if anyone knows how I can get access to information regarding these entities and lists of their share holders. I do know that federal law mandates that this information be made public upon request but After researching on my own for several weeks, I have had no luck.

Any pointing in the right direction would be greatly appreciated.
