Should I get my real estate license when doing aprox. 1 deal/yr?

I'd like to hear from other investors who can debate the pros/cons of whether or not I should get licensed as a real estate agent so I can have access to the MLS to source my own deals. For a little background - I currently have the time to be able to search for deals on my own, and I spend a lot of time looking. I thoroughly enjoy this process, but feel like I'm hitting a wall with the basic tools available to the general public. I can see the benefit of saving money on the commission for future deals, but can also the benefit of having a real estate agent working on this for us!What has been your experience? When averaging about one deal a year is it worth the expense and time spent to get certified? (specifically buying rentals that need some work, and using the buy and hold method). Looking forward to hearing responses!
