Good tenant refers a friend

Hello BP, I have a duplex with one good tenant. The other side has recently become available. The good tenant referred me to someone she knows very well and wants the place. The prospective tenant says his credit is not good due to a divorce and would like to show it to me using credit karma rather then me doing a hard inquiry.. he also asked instead of doing 1st last and security to just doing 1st and last. His income is about 4k a month and the unit is renting for 1200.. my tenant says he's a real honest guy as she is a great tenant. Should I do it?
