Lubbock And College Station Among Nation's Most Affordable College Towns

ATLANTA (Apartment Guide) – Two Texas cities have landed on Apartment Guide's list of the top ten most affordable college towns for renters.

Lubbock, home to Texas Tech University, ranked second. Red Raiders pay an average of $664 per month for a one-bedroom apartment. Two-bedroom units are is $842.

College Station, home to Texas A&M University, ranked eighth on the list with a one-bedroom costing $891. Aggies pay an average of $939 per month for a two-bedroom apartment.

Towns and their ranking on the list are:

  • No. 1 Fayetteville, Ark., University of Arkansas
  • No. 2 Lubbock, TX., Texas Tech University
  • No. 3 Tucson, Ariz., University of Arizona
  • No. 4 Lincoln, Neb., University of Nebraska
  • No. 5 Syracuse, N.Y., Syracuse University
  • No. 6 Athens, Ga., University of Georgia
  • No. 7 Winston-Salem, N.C., Wake Forest University
  • No. 8 College Station, TX. Texas A&M University
  • No. 9 Columbia, Mo., University of Missouri
  • No. 10 Lexington, Ky., University of Kentucky
