Amazon Narrows HQ2 List To 20 Cities
Amazon narrows the list of metro areas for its new headquarters to 20
- Amazon says it has narrowed the list of places for its second headquarters to 20.
- The company says it will spend $5 billion in the area where it builds its second headquarters and will employ 50,000 there.
- It expects to make a final decision this year.
Now I am not a big believer that an Amazon HQ2 will be a big game changer for many cities on the list, but for some of them, it very could well be. Any thoughts on this new narrowed down list? The quick thing that stuck out to me, as that in essence Washington DC actually takes up 3 spots on the list, as Montgomery County, MD and Northern Virginia, are just suburbs of DC.
- Atlanta
- Austin, Texas
- Boston
- Chicago
- Columbus, Ohio
- Dallas
- Denver

- Montgomery County, Md.
- Nashville, Tenn.

Go Newark, NJ! Woo Hoo! But isn't that really part of the NYC market, so is that 2 spots on the list @Russell Brazil?
