If you were starting all over what market would you pick?

Where would you be interested in investing if you were starting over knowing what you know now?  What kinds of parameters would you look for - population growth, job growth, school systems, etc.?

I'm just starting out and beginning to think I should reconsider the market I'll be investing in.  Local investing is out for me but I need to think a little harder about where to get started.  Would love to hear how you evaluate what markets to invest in and how you might change your strategy with some experience under your belt.
