Advice Needed : Bad Reaction - asking Seller about sale proceeds
Today I called an owner about a duplex for sale. The conversation went well, until I asked if he had any plans after selling. Then, he got very defensive by saying "That's private, my business is my business". I mentioned to him that I ask this question every time I'm interested in a property. I thought I did a good job of rebounding after my explanation, but overall, I was disicouraged by the seller's reaction.
Is there a better way to lay the groundwork to ask for seller financing? I made an appointment to go out and see the property Friday afternoon.
