Neighbor keeps parking in my driveway...
Long story short, I've asked them before not to. The first time the guy tried to threaten me with a fictitious sewer easement, claiming my sewer goes through his property. I called the county and sewer district, it doesn't....
The third time I called the cops after they didn't move the cars of their drunk guests. When the cops showed up, they pretended like I never asked them, though I have proof I did, and offered it to the cops. Cops asked them to move but were mostly inept and uninterested, made the excuse of "well they can't park on the street" (OK, but that doesn't mean you can volunteer my property...) tried to lecture ME about being a good neighbor... They tried to claim it's a civil issue though when I asked them if my neighbor breaks into my house is that a civil issue too just because he's my neighbor, they quickly changed their tune...Not to mention I consulted with an attorney at the time who said it was a criminal trespass issue since it's not a boundary dispute, which I informed them of.
To top it off his landscapers kept using my driveway to unload heavy equipment, and in one case the landscaper parked his truck in it and did work on his engine for 40 minutes. I've documented all of this of course with pictures, etc. I've also informed them of my displeasure about that, and he pretends he told them not to, yet I have seen him out there when they are doing it.
Most recently another landscaper of his parked in my driveway, and gave me a hard time when I asked him to move it. I notified the neighbor and he didn't do anything so I had to go out there to tell him to move it. Oh, he texted me that they were gone 20 minutes after I had to go out there and ask them to move it myself. Then 2 days later the landscaper came back for more work, unloading gravel from my driveway into the neighbors yard. They covered my stairs to my lawn with the gravel and dirt from their work. It's about 20 minutes of work to shovel it off.
This guy just doesn't get it. I was planning on moving anyways in a few months, but this is ridiculous. Should I just keep calling the cops on them (free), ignore it, or hire an attorney to take them to court? The attorney I spoke to previously suggested a gate. That's a huge hassle, the driveway is huge and long, an electronic gate is expensive, and I don't see why I should have to shell out thousands of dollars because of their inability to respect other peoples property rights.
