Going Back to W2 Income

Hi everyone. I've just been considering getting a W2 job after not having one for 7 years. The passive income I claim is ok, but it is not getting me the yes from lenders I need to hear for one reason or the other. I don't mind paying cash for things its ok but I feel like Im in slow lane right now as far as accumulating and moving up in asset class. BRRRR has been a eye opener for me but at this point I think DTI is holding me back. So long story short has anyone here ever gone back to W2 income to get the ball rolling on financing deals and then ditch the gig once its running smoothly. Thanks !
