Rental Management from outside the country

I am on a work permit and I am planning to buy a condo for rental. Also, I have a primary residence on a mortgage. Suppose, if I have to return to my home country due to visa/job issues, how difficult is it to manage the property from outside the country? Is anyone doing it? What are your thoughts?
