Which RE investing strategy has the best overall return vs risk?

Here is a question for folks who have experience doing various investing strategies through the years. I do understand that these strategies span the gamut of totally active to totally passive participation. If you are capable of investing in any of these strategies, purely from an overall return perspective, which one of these strategies, i.e. SFR, multi-family/small apartments, investing in Syndications, mobile home parks, notes, etc. have folks seen the best bang for their buck? Thanks

RE investment as it is often practiced and preached here on BP is an active investment. It is not nearly as passive as some may believe or make it out to be, though some methods are certainly more passive than others. As an active investment, it is the investor's knowledge, skill, and hard work that maximizes returns and mitigates risks. As such, it really depends on the individual investor and the specific market they are operating in as to what strategy will perform the best. That is both bad news and good news ... the bad news is that it is hard work and not everyone is willing and able to do it or even outsource it effectively, the good news is that if you become a skilled investor and apply a strategy that is appropriate for the market and asset you are operating in, you can make a great return anytime, anyplace.
