Baltimore Co Property Tax Refund (or not)
I learned a little nugget of information today and thought I'd pass it along. So, as you may know, if you get a high water bill, and repair the reason for that water bill, you can get a hearing with the water department and therefore have your bill credited back some. After that, you can forward that information on to the Assessments department because this high water usage will increase the sewer service portion of your yearly property tax bill.
Then you can have that adjusted as well *IF* it's from a problem such as your main water supply line. I learned today that sadly, they will not adjust your sewer service portion of the tax bill if the leak is from any fixture such as showers, toilets, sinks, etc. *sad face* I suppose it makes sense, but until I learned this, I was under the impression that they credit back some of the tax bill no matter the water repair reason.
