Investing in duplexes

My name is Andrew Clifton, my father and I are looking into buying 1-4 duplexes all on the same street. They are in awesome condition and all are being rented out for $500 a month.  Thing is for just me and my father that's a lot of money to be burden down with (479,000 for all four duplexes) 

I am asking for words of wisdom and advice!
