Relocating with a VA Loan

I purchased my first home with a VA loan back in September 2015. I had all intentions of living in the home for at least a year as the VA requires but I have recently been offered a better career opportunity several states away.

I plan on moving around May 2016, 8 months occupancy total.  I've read that the VA lets active duty take out a second VA loan and rent out their current home if they are relocated due to the military.   

Now I am no longer in the military, but I'm still relocating due to work. This relocation isn't required but it will be better for my career in the long run. What are my options for renting out my current home and taking out a second VA loan in my new location?
