Investor Friendly Real Estate Agent in St. Joseph, MO

I'm a new real estate investor looking for properties in St. Joseph, MO. I've found a few here and there that look promising, but I'm having trouble finding a real estate agent who is willing to pull comps and put in the legwork for me. I had read that some investors are able to access the MLS by becoming an unlicensed assistant to a real estate agent. When I mentioned this to the guy I was working with, he was a little more than hostile. I told him if he didn't want to or have time to get me comps, that's ok, but could he grant me access to do my own research? Any way, anybody out there an investor friendly realtor willing to put in some time with me? I'm ready to jump in and have one property in particular in mind I'm ready to pull the trigger on if the numbers support it.
