I have been hearing people talk a lot about multi-family tax advantages. My question is if I owner occupy a SFH and rent out 3 rooms are there any tax advantages I am missing out on than if I were to owner occupy and rent 3 units of a 4 plex? And perhaps are there tax advantages that an Owner-occupied SFH may have that multi's dont?? Looking for an off the record answer outside of "talk with your accountant". Thanks BP!
