Holiday, FL Homeowners Insurance Rates?

Looking for a bit of knowledge on how to save on buying homeowners insurance on a recently purchased property. I paid $51,500 cash for a 3/2 1200sf property in Holiday, FL. The property is in a flood plain, most of the Tampa, FL area is and I will deal with that separately if I need to. The insurance was quoted at $1,200 per year and I have received a bill for over $1,600. Any experience in this are with an agent or just information would be helpful. Thanks.

Hey Jeff, I think you meant stay east of US 19 to avoid flood zones :)
