1st home purchase

Hi folks!

I'm not sure if this is the right section on this forum to post this but I wanted to get some advice from you pros.

I am thinking about purchasing my first home early next year and have few questions. Let me give bit of info about my self. I am 31 years old and have wife and a baby boy. We live in Northern California(bay area).
I just did my credit check via online and got score of 756. All that I make as a contractor this year is non-taxed so I don't have record...atleast not yet. Average price of home we're looking at is around 500K.

-Having said, what are my chance of financing a home without a record of income?

-Does my wife's credit matter when I apply for a loan?

-How much cash do I need as a down payment? Minimum?

-Most importantly, how can I best prepare from now to next year?

Thank you very much, David
