Dealing with a probate house

Here's a somewhat off-the-wall question: While driving for dollars I noted a particular address. Got home and did some checking up on the property (getting owner name, etc.) and found that the home is currently titled to the estate of a gentleman. Did a quick google search of the name to see what I could find out and it turns out he was a victim of a homicide about a year ago (not in this property). Charges were finally brought on the perpetrator this past February but I believe the case is still ongoing. How should I approach this? Is it too soon?

Thanks!

If title is still in the name of the decedent, you'll need to determine, if a probate has, in fact, been opened. It will most likely be found at the local county seat superior courthouse.

Don't know of your county has some/all/none of their case files online.

Before you spend too much time, be sure to research property, equity, title, interests and be certain of the opportunity.
