State and Local Gotchas

N/A N/A
Posted

John (REI) and I have been having a bit of a tangent in getting licensed pointing out some state oddities. John thought that we were going far enough into the weeds there that I should creat a new post.

If you know any local or state laws that might blindside a real estate investor, post them here.

To make this more useful for everyone, please begin each post with: Unconfirmed, Confirmed, Clarification or Sketchy (for something that you've heard something about but don't know details).

This thread is for reporting news; not for the purpose of offering legal advice. It is meant to point out danger zones where seeking true legal advice might help you.

To sum up what has gone before:

John mentioned that in a certain state: "Both lawyers were unaware of a state law concerning what is regulated by the state." (Personally, I'd like to see more about this one)

I mentioned that Assignments are illegal in New Jersey

If I read John's post correctly, the same thing might be true in Oregon.
