When in the buying process to look for a property manager?

Hello BP!

I've made my 1st offer on a property out here in the Inland Empire of California, the deal isn't amazing but I was eager to get started and I'd like my first investment to be close to home.  Anyways.. this post isn't for a deal analysis, it's regarding property managers.

My business strategy will include a PM because I feel it's more scaleable that way.  My questions was to see when during the buying process everyone starts the interview/hiring process for property managers.  I was thinking about starting right now, but would it be better to do so during my due dilligence period or even after we close escrow?

I have reservations because other agents or the prop manager can make an offer on the same property and PM companies won't feel like they're wasting time if I have a property already.  A professional rent analysis would help but I am pretty familiar with the going rents in the area.

Any thoughts would help!
