Washington, MO - A Great Place to Invest!

Howdy BP! My Name is Devon Shaw and I am an investor focused Agent in the STL area, based out of a wonderful little town known as Washington. I just wanted to share a little bit about the area, because I feel it flies way under the radar for many investors due to it being small and outside of the city.

A few quick stats:

Population ~ 15,000

Median Income: ~$75,000

Median Property Value: ~200,000

Washington, Missouri, was founded in 1824 and is located along the Missouri River. It started as a small trading post, benefiting from its proximity to the river for transportation and trade. The town was named after George Washington and grew steadily as agriculture, particularly tobacco and hemp, became key industries. In the late 1800s, the arrival of the railroad helped Washington expand further and attract new businesses.

The city has a rich architectural heritage, with many historic buildings from the 19th and early 20th centuries still standing. Over the years, Washington has evolved from a river town into a vibrant community known for its scenic views, historic downtown, and local festivals. It has a strong sense of its past while continuing to develop as a modern city.

I grew up here and can speak first hand to the growth and improvement that has come to the town over the last 15-20 years. With the continuing trend of folks wanting to move out of the city, Washington is primed to be a #1 choice due to easy commute, safety, affordability, good schools, and other factors. Many of the legacy farmers are dying off or moving on as well leaving lots of land ready for development.

If you have any interest in learning more about investing in Washington or surrounding areas, I would love to help!
