Best US state for Canadian investor

Sean Osborne
Posted

Hello fellow real estate investors,

I’m from Canada and currently manage five rental properties in Toronto, Ontario. After doing a lot of refinancing, I now have substantial liquid capital and am looking to start investing outside of Canada.

I recently spoke to a fellow Canadian investor who suggested investing in the A and B+ areas of Ohio for cash flow. Others have recommended Texas. As I’m not very familiar with the US market, I’m doing my own due diligence.

Any thoughts or advice on these markets or others I should consider as well as any other considerations?

Hi Sean..fellow Canadian born in Oakville here..I work with international investors regularly here on the Oregon Coast primarily with coastal luxury STR's and multi family. Eugene would be a college oriented market to explore…Would be happy to introduce you to the PNW market. Also check in with @Joseph Chiofalo he handles a lot of our foreign national and international mortgages. Without a US SS# usually need 25% down. Cheers!
