Home purchase question
Hi, a trustee of my late father's estate just bought a home for my sister. The trustee put my sister's name on the deed as owner. I have reason to suspect the trustee also has a title with her own LLC, a Land trust, or some other form of separate ownership documents for her self on this property, and hasn't told me or my sister, who knows nothing about real estate, and doesn't care. I suspect she's not going to ever tell us. Problem is, me and my siblings are also beneficiaries. How do I find out if the house is really company owned, and can the trustee make it so that no one can see this. The trustee is very smart and experienced, is wealthy, and has shown past deceptions that are self dealing. I don't want to spend a lot to find this info, or the title info. But I will if necessary. Can I just call the city clerk or assessor. Is it a public thing. Help. Thanks in advance.
