Tips for Newbies - Receipts

When you are buying materials, go ahead and write the name of the property on the receipt before you ever even leave the check-out counter. You already have a pen in your hand, so it just adds a few seconds of time, but it will save you tons of time later.

@Bryan L. good ideas, ones I believe we have finally trained our crew leaders to do, always write the name of the project on the reciept at the store, the other when buying for two projects at the same time/ and location, ring up your order separately.

We buy most of our materials from Lowes. All the items purchased there run through the LAR account which requires project name and signature as well. Thus if a reciept is missing at the end of the week when we process all "finance" we can look it up online, see the signature and project name as well, very helpful.
