Seeking advice on finding a good real estate agent

Hello, I recently joined BiggerPockets, but have been contemplating real estate investing for a while. I believe it's time to take action this year by acquiring rental properties and learning from experience instead of just pondering and being stuck in my thoughts. However, I still want to minimize potential issues, especially when it comes to hiring a real estate agent.

I bought my primary residence back in 2022, but the real estate agent I dealt with wasn't particularly helpful in my opinion. I believe assessing past experiences can help me better determine if a real estate agent is a good fit for my needs. However, the realtor I previously engaged with mainly focused on assisting individuals in purchasing their homes, not on investment properties (plus, I was also only looking for house as my primary residence, not an investment). Therefore, I'm uncertain if my past experience will aid me in finding a suitable real estate agent for investment purposes. Are there any tips for evaluating whether a real estate agent possesses the knowledge and reliability required in investment areas? Given my limited experience and understanding in this field, it's challenging for me to judge whether a real estate agent is suitable for my investment purposes. Thanks in advance!
