The Importance of Delayed Gratification
Hey all,
I wanted to share a principle that I've been driven towards over the last several years. Even before discovering my interest in real estate and long term financial wealth building. Many of you know of this principle: delayed gratification.
Foregoing something in the present so you can reap the benefits in the future. Making short term sacrifices and dealing with temporary discomfort in order to manifest yourself a better tomorrow.
I've been applying this to my personal life by cutting back on spending and budgeting to make my first real estate investment. Foregoing hours in the morning that I'd enjoy sleep but would rather get up and go to the gym so that I can spend my evening after work reading, scrolling BP, and spending time with my loved ones at home.
We are constantly presented with choices. The easy way is always the option that will pay you less dividends in the future. Get up and get after it now so that you aren't wishing you did later.
This mantra has allowed me to get out of my comfort zone and find time to do much more than I thought possible. More to come.
I hope this helps somebody to continue even if they are going through temporary discomfort.
-Ben
