Sale pending....but is has been a long time

So there's a property in a small town near where I live that would be a great addition for me.  The listing has been pending for 6 months now.  Nothing has moved.  I know it's stupid and I should just call myself.  But should I call the listing agent and ask what's going on or would that be better for my agent to make that phone call.  Any input would be 👍
