International real estate investors?

Hi folks, considering investing in the UAE, specifically a condo in Dubai - anyone have any experience investing internationally? Obviously lots of nuances and such to keep in mind. 

Anyone have experience investing in the UAE while living in the US? Financing is a totally different ballgame over there not surprisingly. 

Any tips and tricks would be greatly appreciated.
