First time investing in real estate out of state need advice

Hello! I currently live in Pittsburgh and I am looking to sell my 3 brd home and also invest in real estate in S.C in which I will be moving to eventually. Is it possible to invest in real estate once I sell my house here in Pittsburgh as a property investor or is that frowned upon if your not living in the current state. If so does anyone have any contacts or someone I can speak to that knows how to go about looking and speaking with someone with experience in that area of expertise and state?

Thank you!
