Anyone investing in Lake County, IL?

Happy New Year,

Just curious if anyone regularly invests in Lake County, IL north of Chicago, I see a lot of topics come up and people indicating interest in Chicago, and don't here much chatter about the northern burbs. I know there was a lot of large investment firms snatching up property this way last year.

Interested in any feedback or experiences others may have had, as I am looking to get started in 2014 in the area. Many areas are way too overpriced in Lake County, but there are pockets that would appear to be pretty solid areas for REI at the right purchase price.
