Different Ways To Find a Property Owner?

Hey guys, I am hoping for a little bit of creativity here. I have been driving for dollars and have noticed that about 40% of the homes that I write down either say owner occupied or non-owner occupied, and they are not tagged as vacant even though they obviously are. These properties are very few but I have a theory that they dont get sold because it is seemingly impossible to contact them.

So I have started doing some deep digging to find these people. Most of the time the owner is deceased and it is a matter of tracking down the heirs.

So I will go to whitepages and search for their relatives, I started using spokeo today as well. If this doesnt work, I try to find an obituary or an article online mentioning them then search for the heirs. Deceased or not, I will attempt to contact them via phone and email, and if that doesnt work I'll go to their last known address and knock on their door and leave them a personal letter.  Also prior to going to whitepages, I will skiptrace them on propstream.

Do you guys have any other ways of finding people whether it be heirs or a difficult to contact owner? Any tips are greatly appreciated!

Neighbors know a lot. Knock on their door and see if you can get an inside scoop.
