Real Estate vs Pension/457
Who has run the numbers on difference between holding real estate as a retirement plan vs relying on your future pension or 457 plan? I know it can be a lot of speculation depending on what markets do etc. it’s also good to be diversified and have both as a plan but I’m curious if anyone has ever left that “great future pension” because you gathered enough real estate to outweigh the benefit of staying for another 20+ years at your pension job. I love the idea of using my current pension job to buy buy buy and hold for my future retirement and take the hit of losing my 70% of top 3 years when I’m eligible to retire in another 25 years.
