Advice for dealing with condo damage

Hey there. Just purchased first condo. HOA is having exterior walls replaced. In the process I now have this damage on the inside. Waiting on HOA response. How would you go about getting this fixed? HOA should fix for me? Gap big enough for lizards to get in.
