Air BNB in Primary Residence- Tax Implications

Levi Day
Posted

Hello all! My wife and I have a 2500 sq. ft.  home as our primary residence. It is way more space than we need. We have been considering doing a short term room rental out of it. The thing is, we would like to sell the home in a couple years. Not sure what the tax implications would be. More precisely, can we use the primary residence tax exemption for it even though we used it partially as an Air BNB? Thanks for any insight!
