Am I responsible for last year's property taxes?

I bought a property through owner financing. The land contract was recorded 01/30/2023. I paid the property tax bill that was sent to me after that date.

Then I noticed the tax bill was for the first half of 2022, but due end of March 2023. My land contract says I am responsible for taxes that become due after the sale of the property. I'm kind of blindsided that I'm responsible for property taxes for an entire year before I bought the property. Is this normal?
