Tax benefits for private investors that invest in my company

Blane Koenig
Posted

Hello everyone,

My name is Blane, and I have a modest real estate investing company in Louisiana. I have a potential investor that I am trying to pitch to join me as a cash investor, parter, or whatever benefits him or myself the most. With that said he is looking to invest because he receives large bonuses, causing a large tax bill.

So, my question is what is the best route for us to take that will give the best tax benefit. I know as a single member LLC, there is huge benefits for me. If we form a partnership I am not sure if those benefits will be the same for both of us, or would it be better for him to provide cash in a way that would afford him the tax benefits he is looking for.

Thanks in advance, and all suggestions and/or advice is welcome.

Blane
