Inspection on as-is property?

Hi,

I just purchased my first investment! :) this was an off market as-is property that needs a lot of work. My question is, should I get an inspection prior to starting any work on the property to kind of see where I stand? The plan is to fix the property and get it rent ready.

Also any recommendations for inspectors in the St. Louis county area are appreciated!

Thanks

Z

Get your GC to walk it and give you their opinion. If the property is rough then all an inspector is gonna do is knit pick the small stuff. Get a experienced GC that can tell you if the foundation needs work, HVAC, electrical

Inspectors are not specialists
