Sell some stocks to pay off home?

Posted

Alright trying to make a decision on if I should sell my stocks now to pay off my home. I owe 460k at 5% interest rate. I have exactly $1M in stocks after crash today and around 350k in cash. I would have to sell around 300 tesla shares to pay off my home next week. Some information that might matter is that I own several businesses that net me around $100k a month and I am 31 years old. I take out the money every 3-4 months to have excess for expenses and emergencies.

My reasoning for paying off home is that it's the safest investment that I can think of because of the Florida Homestead exemption Law.

Any opinions are greatly appreciated thanks!
