First time buyer in Treasure Valley (ID) - ADU Questions!

Hi all - So happy to [finally]  post a question as a first time buyer, instead of reading all your helpful questions/answers from the sidelines!

We're moving back to the Treasure Valley for the next 3 years for grad school, using FHA, and are wanting to buy a SFH with a detached garage to convert to an ADU. I haven't found much information online, and am curious if anyone has experience specifically in Boise, Nampa, and Caldwell and the individual regulations / turnaround time for permitting. And obviously anything else I'm not thinking to ask!
