Scaling issue: Too many leads!

A wholesaler (and occasional rehabber) I recently talked to said he has scaled down his advertising because he is getting so many leads that he doesn't have enough time to set appointments with the qualified prospects. Sounds like a good problem to have, and I'm wondering what I would do in that situation. Training someone else to make offers on my behalf sounds like the sensible next step, but with no barriers to entry in wholesaling I wonder if I would just be creating new competition.

Has anyone else had the problem of "too many" leads? How did you attempt to resolve it? (preferably without scaling down your marketing)

I had that happen once and definitely didn't consider it a real problem. I qualified them to screen out the loser deals but still had a ton to consider.

Because I had expanded my market area I found some good BPO agents that were in that phase when the asset managers were cutting the amount they paid for bpo's to as low as $35 so I called them and said just give me your best opinion of current value and any problems you see. Call it in to me, no need for the written report or photos, just your honest opinion.

I was a broker and had access to the MLS but it was $50 to them real quick and allowed me to put them in order of importance and make the deals. I used them again and again when the big rush was on and threw a bonus in if I made the deal which they were not expecting. Many turned into bird dogs for me even though they were licensed and had that option of trying for a listing on properties they found while driving during their regular bpo assignments. I still use some in areas out of my normal area to screen potential deals for me.
