Experience with garden suites anyone?

We own a property where we would like to build a garden suite. Some places will call this an accessory dwelling unit- a separate 2  bedroom/1 bathroom unit at the back of the property, not attached to the house. Does anyone have experience in building these? If so, I'd like to connect. They are new in our jurisdiction.
