Expanding a JADU - any experienced builders?

Hi all,

Was hoping that someone could help me out with this JADU question. 

"Maximum size is 500 square feet, however, an additional 150 square foot expansion beyond the physical dimensions of the existing structure is permitted strictly to accommodate ingress and egress to JADU."

How would the 150 sq ft expansion to accommodate entering / exiting look like? Is this a question better suited for an architect?
