Buying a house previously burnt due to fire
We got an offer to buy a house that is previouly burned in basement for 200k cash. The est. value of the property with it restored condition is around 600k. The renovation cost is quoted at 200-300k. It is a major repair. The seller wants to received his remaining claimed fund from the insurance. (Around 140k). Do you know if they would required engineering and licensed contractor to do the work, so the adjuster from insurance company release the fund?
